We have been awarded as one of the top 25 best big companies to work for in the UK

It all starts with good people.

Over the last 24 months we have been taking part in the Best Companies survey and humbled that we have been awarded as one of the top 25 best companies to work for in the UK. We know this award is not possible without the dedication and commitment of our Breadheads.

As a neighbourhood bakery, our place in the community goes beyond serving our good food and good coffee to our loyal customers, but the ethos of care behind our craft extends into our people philosophy, offering good jobs, opportunities to quickly “Rise with GAIL’s” and develop, and meaningful perks and benefits including free food on shift to keep you going, 50% discount when you are not working (making you very popular with friends), and a generous refer a friend scheme.

In our b-Heard survey, our breadheads say their team is the best part of working for GAIL’s. Supported by an annual social calendar where everyone puts down their aprons to celebrate the quarter, we know incredible friendships and connections are built to last a lifetime. At GAIL’s we also recognise the importance our managers have on the engagement and experience of our Breadheads. Over the last year, we have gone beyond traditional “management training” introducing the art of good conversations, and human-centric leadership courses to our suite of development workshops for our leaders. With this focus we have seen an improved retention rate of 13%.

We are under no doubt that the good people of GAIL’s have been crucial to our mission to share our love of baking with more neighbourhoods, and through our survey, our listening workshops, and every interaction with our breadheads, we will continue to take on feedback, learn and evolve our people experience.

Thank you to our entire team of Breadheads who took part in this years survey (a whopping 72%). We are proud to be in your company.
